Tic-Tac-Toe that refuses to stay small: beat the computer on the classic 3×3 grid and the board grows — four in a row on 5×5, then full gomoku rules on 7×7 and 9×9, with the AI getting sharper at every step.

Everyone knows how Tic-Tac-Toe ends: two decent players, a full grid, a draw, a shrug. That is exactly why this version does not stop at 3×3. The little grid is just the front door — win it and the game hands you a 5×5 board where you need four in a row, and suddenly the corners, forks and traps you memorised as a kid stop working.

From there it keeps climbing: 7×7 and then 9×9, both played to five in a row — the same family of rules as gomoku, the pen-and-paper classic that people have been sharpening for centuries. On a big board the game stops being about memorised lines and starts being about building two threats at once, because a single threat always gets blocked.

The computer grows with the boards. On the first level it plays like a distracted friend — it will miss things, and beating it is a warm-up. By the last board it hunts double threats, reads your open threes, and punishes lazy moves. Win and you bank points scaled to the level; lose and your streak resets to zero.

First move alternates every round, so neither side keeps the opening advantage. It is a five-second rule set stretched across four boards that play completely differently — the rare game that works equally well as a coffee-break puzzle and a genuine head-to-head with a machine that wants to win.
