House of Secrets

House of Secrets is a triple tile match puzzle: tap tiles from a layered board into a seven-slot tray, and when three identical ones meet, they shatter and vanish. Fill the tray without a match and the level is lost — so every tap counts.

Triple tile matching is one of the most-played puzzle formats on phones — Triple Match 3D, Zen Match, Tile Busters, Triple Tile and Tap Tile all run on the same one-sentence rule — and House of Secrets brings it straight to your browser, with no download and no account. Tap an uncovered tile to move it to the tray; three identical tiles in the tray clear themselves. The catch fits in one sentence too: if the tray fills up with no triple in sight, the level ends.

The game runs through ten locations — a bakery, a pottery workshop, a florist, a bookshop, a tea house, a tailor's atelier, a perfumery, a clockmaker's shop, a greenhouse and a hilltop observatory — fifteen levels each, 150 in all. Every level brings its own themed tile set, from pastries and glazes to pressed flowers, brass gears and star charts: over 1200 original icons, none of them repeated inside a set. Backgrounds change every three levels, and a polaroid snapshot announces each new scene.

The boards are not random piles. Each layout is a symmetric figure — a heart, a butterfly, an arch, a flower, sometimes a pixel picture of a cupcake or a teapot — stacked in up to five layers, with rows offset by a third or a quarter of a tile so the depth reads clearly. Only tiles that nothing covers can be picked, so reading the layers matters as much as spotting pairs. Every single level is verified by a beam-search solver before it ships: a way through always exists.

Cleared triples do not simply fade — each tile cracks into ceramic shards that scatter with real weight and spin, and chained clears set off combo shouts. Three boosters wait at the bottom: undo returns your last tile to the board, shuffle rearranges what is left, and hint pulls a matching triple into view. Three of each per level — enough to escape a bad moment, not enough to stop thinking.

Difficulty climbs steadily inside every location: an opener of 36 tiles across two layers, a finish of 132 tiles across five, with the number of different tile types rising alongside. The street map keeps your progress, and if you are signed in to crokocat it follows you to another device.

Frequently asked questions

How is House of Secrets different from Triple Match 3D, Zen Match or Tile Busters?

The core rule is the same one every triple tile game runs on — collect three identical tiles in a seven-slot tray. House of Secrets plays free in the browser with nothing to install, and each of its 150 boards is a symmetric figure that a solver has proven solvable before shipping.

What happens when the tray is full?

If all seven slots fill without completing a triple, the level is lost and you can retry it. The undo booster pulls your last tile back to the board before it comes to that.

Are all levels actually solvable?

Yes. Every level is checked by a beam-search solver, so a winning sequence of taps always exists — though the later boards make you work for it.

How many boosters do I get?

Three undos, three shuffles and three hints per level, refreshed with every new level.

How long is the game?

Ten locations of fifteen levels each, 150 in total, plus two short tutorial boards at the start.

Does my progress carry over to another device?

Yes, if you are signed in to crokocat: how far you got and which locations are unlocked travel with your account. Playing signed out keeps the save in this browser.
