Small Wonders is a category sorting puzzle set in a storybook town: every card is a little resident caught mid-errand — a fox courier racing a parcel across town, a mouse detective with a magnifying glass, a dragon brewing something purple — and your job is to drop each one into the stack where it belongs. If you have played Catedrop, you will feel at home within a move; if you have not, you will within two.

The board is a grid of cards, and some of them are not pictures but categories: a coloured card with a name like Bakers, Birds, Holding Lanterns or Makers Who Are Birds, and eight empty dots underneath. Drag a picture onto the category it fits and it drops into the stack. Fill all eight dots and the category flies off the board, the columns settle, and fresh cards tumble down face-down from the decks above and flip over as they land.

Categories come in every flavour. Some are about who someone is — cats, owls, humans, dragons. Some are about the job — knights, gardeners, stargazers, potion makers. Some are about what is in their hands or on their head — an umbrella, a crown, a pair of goggles. And some ask you to put two ideas together, which is where the town's regulars start to feel like old friends you are trying very hard not to mislabel.

Not every category card is on the board from the start. When the one you need is still buried in a deck, park cards in the Hold row: three slots are open, cards of the same kind stack up in one slot, and a whole stack goes to its category in a single move once it appears. Every level has a move limit, so a card thrown at the wrong category costs you.

Every few levels a short story card introduces one of the town's residents and the errand they are on — and usually slips in a hint about a trickier category, like who counts as a Maker or what makes something Weather Gear. No Sorting Hat required: the pictures carry every clue you need.

The characters are drawn in a soft, Pixar-style 3D look — round faces, expressive paws, warm light — and the same thirty residents return in different costumes and moments, which is half the fun of learning the town.

It runs in the browser with nothing to install and no account to make, on desktop, phone or tablet, and it remembers your level between visits.
