Fish Sort is a bubble fish sorting puzzle. The aquarium is piled high with soap bubbles, every bubble holds a mix of little sea creatures, and up on the shelf two glass tanks are waiting — each one wants three fish of one kind. Tap a fish and it swims out of its bubble and into the right tank. Empty a bubble and it pops, the pile settles, and new bubbles drift down from above. Clear the whole aquarium before the tray at the top runs out of room.

The rule fits in one breath: every tank asks for one kind of fish, three of them, and only the fish you tap move. The tag hanging under each tank shows which creature it wants and how many it has. A fish that has no tank waiting for it goes into the tray — five slots, and the moment a tank for that kind opens, the fish in the tray hop over on their own. Fill all five slots with fish nobody wants and the level is over.

That is where the puzzle lives. The tank you need may want a fish that is still buried at the bottom of the pile, behind a frozen bubble or locked under a padlock, and the only way down is to park something in the tray. Every tap is a small bet: which bubble to empty so the pile falls the right way, which fish to park because a tank for it is likely next, and when to stop and wait for a better order.

The deeper you go, the more the aquarium fights back. Frozen bubbles thaw only after you take fish from their neighbours; foggy bubbles hide what is inside; some fish are shown only as question marks until you pick them; keys pop out of one bubble and fly to unlock another. Later on you meet timer tanks that must be filled before the clock runs down, surprise bubbles with more fish inside than you can see, stones to crack, fish frozen in ice, chained pairs that leave together, and tanks that keep their wish a secret.

More than three hundred sea creatures swim through the game — clownfish, tangs, puffers, rays, seahorses, octopuses, jellyfish, crabs, axolotls, penguins and plenty more — and no level shows two lookalikes side by side. The levels are generated, so they never run out, with a steady rhythm of easier boards and harder spikes. Everything is free and runs right in your browser on desktop, phone and tablet.

Tips for Fish Sort

Who made Fish Sort?

Fish Sort was built by crokocat game studio in 2026 — our own take on the bubble fish sort idea, written from scratch for the browser: our own sea creatures, our own aquarium physics, and levels that are generated rather than shipped, so the game does not end. It sits next to our other sorting puzzles, Rainbow Sort, Gem Sort and Comb Sort, and like all of them it starts in one tap with no install and no account.

About this game

Controls
Tap a fish inside a bubble. If a tank above is waiting for that kind of fish, it swims straight in; if not, it parks in the five-slot tray. Three of a kind fill a tank, the tank bursts, and a new one drops onto the shelf asking for something else. Boosters sit at the bottom of the screen: tap one to use it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fish Sort free to play?

Yes, completely. No download, no install, no sign-up — it runs in your browser on desktop, phone and tablet.

How do you play a fish sort puzzle?

Tap a fish inside a bubble. If one of the tanks on the shelf wants that kind of fish, it swims in; three of a kind fill a tank. Fish nobody needs yet wait in the five-slot tray. Sort every fish to finish the level.

Is Fish Sort like Fish Jam Fever or Bubble Jam?

It is the same kind of game: fish in floating bubbles, tanks that want three of a kind and a small tray for the rest. Fish Sort is our own version for the browser, with its own creatures, levels and obstacles.

What happens when the tray is full?

If all five tray slots hold fish that no open tank wants, the level is lost. You can continue by clearing the tray, or start the level again.

Is there a timer?

Yes, a gentle one: five minutes for most levels and four for the harder ones, and it only starts with your first tap. Most levels take a minute or two.

What are the locked tanks?

Two of the four tanks on the shelf start locked. Opening one gives you a third or fourth order at the same time, which makes the tray much easier to manage.

What do the boosters do?

The rod pulls fish for an open tank straight out of the bubbles, the sweep moves every fish from the tray to a side pocket where they wait for their tank, and the shuffle mixes the fish inside the bubbles.

Why can I not tap some bubbles?

Frozen bubbles thaw when you take fish from the bubbles next to them, foggy bubbles clear the same way, and bubbles with a padlock open when a key reaches them from a key bubble.

How many levels are there?

Levels are generated, so there is no last one. Every ten levels follow the same rhythm: mostly relaxed boards, two harder ones and a big one at the end.

How many kinds of fish are there?

More than three hundred sea creatures. A level uses around fifteen of them, and the game never puts two lookalikes in the same level.

Does Fish Sort save my progress?

Yes. Your level and an unfinished board are saved in the browser, so you can close the tab and continue later.
