Salvo is the classic sea battle on two bright 3D seas: five ships a side, hidden from each other. Fire at the enemy sea square by square — a hit earns another shot — and sink the whole fleet before the computer finds yours.

Each fleet has five ships, 5, 4, 3, 3 and 2 squares long, and ships never touch — not even at a corner — so the water round a sunk ship is marked as empty.

A hit or a sinking gives you another shot; a miss hands the turn over. Red pegs mark hits, white pegs misses, and a sunk enemy ship rises into view.

The computer hunts on a pattern weighted by where ships can still fit and finishes off anything it hits; on early levels it guesses and wastes shots, later it plays sharp.

Arrange your own fleet before each battle: turn ships with a tap or shuffle for a new layout.

Win in 45 shots or fewer for three stars.

Mobile: Tap to turn ships and to fire. Hold the phone upright.
