Trim Time is a lawn-mowing game made to be satisfying: a garden of tall, swaying grass, a little red ride-on mower and a blade that leaves neat stubble and a spray of clippings behind it. Mow every tuft before the fuel runs out, earn a coin for each one and spend them on a wider blade, a faster engine and a bigger tank. A second mode, Haystack, hides a needle in a field of golden hay for your little tractor to dig out. If you like Grass Cut, Grass Cutter or Find The Needle in Haystack, you'll feel right at home.

Cutting grass has become one of the quiet hits of casual games. Grass Cutter is a long-time favourite on Poki, Stone Grass Mowing Simulator sits on the hot list at CrazyGames, and new mowing idle games keep arriving every week. They all share one irresistible feeling: watching a messy lawn turn neat, strip by strip. Trim Time brings that feeling to your browser with short, clear levels and a simple upgrade loop.

Every level is a different garden: rectangles with corners bitten out, rocks and round trees to steer around, and a white picket fence all the way round. Drive the mower anywhere — whatever passes under the blade is cut — and watch the percentage at the top climb. Fuel burns only while you drive, so plan your route: long straight lanes, no doubling back, and swing neatly around the obstacles. Mow 98% of the lawn to clear the garden; stars are for fuel left in the tank. The fresh-cut stripes stay on the lawn, so you can always see what's left.

Every tuft pays a coin, and coins buy three upgrades that stay with you: Blade makes the cut wider, so each pass covers more grass; Engine makes the mower faster; Tank lets you drive for longer. The first gardens are small enough for the stock mower; bigger gardens later on need a few upgrades, so a run that ends with an empty tank still moves you forward — every coin from it is banked.

Haystack is the second mode, inspired by Find The Needle in Haystack. A needle hides somewhere inside the golden stacks on a fenced field. Drive your little red tractor into the hay: the spiked rotor in front chews it into the bin on the back, and hay taller than the tractor stops it, so it eats its own tunnel. A full bin chews no more — drive back to the barn pad and the hay sells for coins by itself. Spend them on a wider Rotor, a stronger Motor that drives and chews faster, and a bigger Bin. When the hay over the needle gets thin you will see it glint; uncover it and drive over it to finish. A metal detector draws a ring and an arrow toward the needle for a few seconds, beeping faster as you get close — you start with two, and a short video gives you more. The less hay you had to eat to find it, the more stars.

Out of fuel with just a corner left? A short video tops up half a tank, once a level. After a clean finish, a video doubles the coins from that garden. Trim Time runs on desktop, phone and tablet with one-finger steering or the keyboard, saves your level, coins and upgrades in the browser, and ranks the highest levels on the leaderboard.

Tips for Trim Time

Who made Trim Time?

Trim Time was built by crokocat game studio in 2026 — a satisfying lawn mower game in the spirit of Grass Cut, Grass Cutter and Stone Grass Mowing Simulator, with gardens to clear and upgrades that carry over.

About this game

Controls
Drag anywhere to drive the mower (a stick appears under your finger), or use the arrow keys / WASD. Everything under the blade gets cut. Before you set off, tap the upgrade cards under the lawn to spend coins. In Haystack the same steering drives the tractor; the upgrade cards work at the barn, and the round button (or H) turns on the metal detector.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trim Time free to play?

Yes. Trim Time is free on crokocat with no download and no sign-up — it runs in your browser on desktop, phone and tablet.

Is Trim Time like Grass Cut or Grass Cutter?

It plays on the same satisfying idea — mow the grass, earn coins, upgrade the mower. Trim Time is a separate game by crokocat with gardens to clear level by level.

How do I clear a level?

Mow 98% of the lawn before the fuel runs out.

Does fuel burn when I stop?

No. Fuel only burns while the mower is moving.

What do the upgrades do?

Blade makes the cut wider, Engine makes the mower faster, and Tank gives you more fuel. They carry over between levels.

What happens when the fuel runs out?

The garden ends, but you keep every coin you earned. A short video can top up half a tank once per level.

How do stars work?

Stars are for fuel left when you finish: plan efficient lanes for three.

How do I find the needle in Haystack?

Dig into the stacks with the tractor. When the hay over the needle is thin it glints; the metal detector points straight at it for a few seconds.

Do coins carry between the modes?

Yes. Coins are shared; the mower's and the tractor's upgrades and the two level ladders are separate.
