Core Drill is a mining game about one simple, very satisfying job: drill down, fill your hold with ore and grab the glowing core at the bottom of the shaft. There is no fuel and no timer — just a hold that fills up. Bring it to the surface, sell everything and upgrade your drill, hold and engine for the next, deeper mine. If you like Brainrot Miner, MegMiner or the classic Motherload, you'll feel right at home.

Mining games are back in fashion. Brainrot Miner climbed into the popular list on Poki within days of release, MegMiner and Ant Miners are among the hot new games on CrazyGames, and the old Flash classic Motherload is still remembered by everyone who played it. They all run on the same loop: dig down, grab the treasure, come back up, upgrade, dig deeper. Core Drill brings that loop to your browser in short, clear levels with a goal you can see from the very first second.

Every level is a new mine shaft, nine blocks wide and deeper than the last. Near the top the ground is soft dirt; below it come clay, stone, granite and finally dark basalt. At the very bottom glows the core. Just hold your finger where you want the drill to go: below and to the sides it digs, above it flies back up through its own tunnels, and it hovers wherever you let go. Bring the core to the surface to clear the level — one tap on the home button sends the drill straight up.

Ore sits right in the rock where you can see it: copper and iron near the surface, silver and gold lower down, rubies, emeralds and diamonds deep below, plus treasure chests. Everything you dig goes into the hold, and the bar at the top shows how full it is. Full? Ore you dig keeps lying in the tunnel — fly up, sell, and come back for it. Coins buy three upgrades that stay with you: Drill digs faster and breaks harder rock, Hold carries more, Engine flies faster. The shop is open whenever you are on the surface, in the middle of a level too.

Deeper rock needs a stronger drill: stone, granite and basalt each show a lock until your Drill is good enough, so the ore you bring up is literally your way down. Round boulders cannot be drilled at all — go around them or blast them with a bomb, which clears a 3×3 block under the drill, hard rock and all. Glowing lava is a wall you have to go around. Stars are for how much you bring up from a mine. After a level a short video doubles your coins, and when your bombs run out a video refills them. Core Drill runs on desktop, phone and tablet, saves your level, coins and upgrades in the browser, and ranks the highest levels on the leaderboard.
