Invaders オンライン
Invadersはアーケード筐体をまるごとブラウザのタブに持ち込みます。隊列を組んで進む55体のエイリアン、崩れていく4基のトーチカ、謎のUFO。そのすべてが、走査線とちらつき、ときおり走るノイズを備えた唸る仮想ブラウン管の上に描かれます。
1978年、たった1本のゲームが世界中の財布を空にし、今日わたしたちが知るハイスコアという概念を生み出しました。これはその筐体への愛情をこめた再現です。ルールだけでなく、感触まで。蛍光グリーンの砲台、左右にカクカクと動く白いエイリアン、撃つ価値があるか迷っているあいだに画面上部を音を立てて横切る赤い謎の円盤。
オリジナルを成立させていたディテールはすべて残っています。5列に並ぶ55体の侵略者は、列ごとに得点が違います。数が減るほど隊列は加速し、最後の1体は全力疾走です。砲台の弾は同時に1発だけ。外せば弾が画面から消えるまで待つあいだも、爆弾は降り続けます。4基のトーチカが身を守ってくれますが、両側からの攻撃でドット単位に削られ、やがて進んでくる壁に押しつぶされます。
ゲームの周りには機械そのものがあります。光るマーキー、コイン投入口、実際に押せるボタンを備えた筐体。そして本物のブラウン管のように振る舞う画面。走査線、流れる帰線のバンド、やわらかなちらつき、爆発時のノイズ。ブラウザのタブが薄暗いゲームセンターにいちばん近づいた姿です。
ウェーブが進むたびに開始位置は少しずつ下がり、少しずつ手強くなります。そして終わりは侵略だけ。あのころも今も目指すのは、画面上部のハイスコア表示と、もう1クレジットです。
Invadersの遊び方
やることは1978年から変わっていません。1発ずつ、侵略を食い止めるだけです。
- 画面下を左右に砲台を動かし、進んでくるエイリアンを撃ちます。
- 自分の弾は同時に1発しか画面に出せません。1発を大事に。
- 下段のエイリアンは10点、中段は20点、最上段は30点。赤いUFOは50〜300点の当たりくじです。
- 4基のトーチカに隠れましょう。両側からの攻撃で崩れ、エイリアンも削りながら進んできます。
- 55体すべてを倒すと次のウェーブが始まり、より低い位置からより速く迫ります。地上まで到達されると終了です。
パソコン: 矢印キーまたはA/Dで移動、スペースキーで発射、Pで一時停止。
スマホ: 画面下の筐体ボタンを使います。LEFT／RIGHTを長押しで移動、FIREをタップで発射。
Invadersのコツ
- トーチカのひとつに細い隙間を削って、そこから狙撃しましょう。昔ながらの技は今でも通用します。
- まず両端の列から片づけましょう。隊列はいちばん外側のエイリアンで折り返すので、端を削ると降下が遅くなります。
- たった1発を無駄撃ちしないこと。外すと丸1秒、無防備な時間が生まれます。
- UFOの得点は運まかせですが、隊列がまだ高い位置にあるうちなら、ほぼタダでもらえるボーナスです。
- 終盤は撃つ前に最後の1体のリズムを覚えましょう。このゲームで最も速く動く相手です。
Invadersを作ったのは?
このInvadersは2026年にゲームスタジオcrokocatによって作られました。1978年のアーケードの金字塔への忠実なオマージュで、実機と同じ224×256の解像度を、疑似ブラウン管つきの仮想筐体の中に描画しています。
