Sled Dash is a one-button sledding race: four penguins on sleds race down a snowy hill of rolling bumps and big ramps. Hold to tuck in and go faster, backflip off the jumps, and land straight to get a burst of speed. If you have played Snow Rider 3D or Alto's Adventure, you will feel at home on the first slope.

Sledding games have been a winter favourite in the browser for years — Snow Rider 3D is still one of the most searched sled games on school-friendly sites, and Alto's Adventure and Tiny Wings showed how much fun one finger and a hill can be. Sled Dash takes that feeling and turns it into a race: you and three penguin rivals start together at the top, and the first one through the checkered arch wins. It is free, runs in the browser and needs nothing installed.

The whole game is one button. On the snow, holding it makes your penguin crouch on the sled and pick up speed. Bumps throw you into the air when you are fast enough, and orange-flagged ramps launch you high over a drop onto a long landing slope. In the air, a fresh press starts a backflip and keeps it turning while you hold; let go and the sled levels out to the snow below on its own. Every flip you land gives you a burst of speed, a clean landing adds a little more — and landing at a bad angle sends your penguin tumbling into the snow.

The rivals ride the same physics as you. They tuck, they plan their flips from the airtime they see, and they sometimes get greedy and crash. On the first levels they never flip, so holding the button is enough to win; later they flip as often as they dare, and you will need doubles off the big ramps to stay ahead. Every level is raced by a perfect rider before it reaches you, so first place is always possible.

Finish in the top three to clear a level: first place earns three stars, second two, third one. The hills grow longer, the ramps higher and the rivals braver as you climb the levels. Sled Dash runs on desktop, phone and tablet with no sign-up, and your level and stars are saved in your browser.

Tips for Sled Dash

Who made Sled Dash?

Sled Dash was built by crokocat game studio in 2026 — a one-button take on downhill sledding games like Snow Rider 3D and Alto's Adventure, with 3D penguins, rivals that ride the same physics and levels checked by a perfect rider.

About this game

Controls
One button does everything. On a phone or tablet, hold anywhere on the screen; on a computer, hold the mouse button, Space, the up arrow or W. On the snow, holding the button tucks your penguin in and the sled speeds up. In the air, press and hold again to backflip — the sled keeps turning while you hold — and let go to let it level out for the landing. The race starts on the first press; the bar at the top shows where all four sleds are and the pill shows your place.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sled Dash free to play?

Yes. Sled Dash is free on crokocat with no download and no sign-up — it runs in your browser on desktop, phone and tablet.

Is Sled Dash like Snow Rider 3D?

It is a sledding game in the same spirit, but a race: instead of steering around trees you hold one button to speed up and flip off ramps, and you race three penguin rivals to the finish. Fans of Alto's Adventure and Tiny Wings will recognise the one-button hill physics.

How do I do a backflip?

When your sled is in the air, press and hold the button — it keeps turning while you hold. Let go and it levels out for the landing.

Why did I crash?

You landed at a bad angle, usually by holding a flip too long. Let go a little earlier so the sled has time to level out.

What does holding on the snow do?

Your penguin tucks in and the sled goes faster. Holding from the snow into the air does not start a flip — you need a fresh press in the air.

Can every level be won?

Yes. Each level is raced by a perfect rider before you see it, and only hills where first place is clearly possible are used.

How are stars counted?

First place earns three stars, second two and third one. Fourth place means trying the level again.
